A little more about us...
Nine Oaks au Joubert, a Victorian Style Bed & Breakfast on the banks of Bayou Teche is graced by 300-year-old oaks which provide a peaceful setting for small events or private relaxation. The picturesque pond is home for a variety of wildlife and features a quaint island dotted with blooms.
The well-appointed home offers a unique setting for discerning guests. The Nine Oaks estate is known locally as “The Castle”. Owners, Brenda and Jessie Joubert, have put much of their own personality into the home and gardens of Nine Oaks Au Joubert with the inclusion of family heirlooms, handmade items, and nostalgia reflective of the grand Victorian era. The house contains a variety of French and English furniture, a grand staircase, and an authentic Vincent Darby mural. Nine Oaks is a featured location in a documentary soon to be released on French speaking roots in Louisiana.
Tea time has become a popular activity at Nine Oaks au Joubert. Based on the formal atmosphere of the Victorian era and updated for today’s Louisiana guests, high tea is a dressed-up occasion where guests don a hat and enjoy the company of others. Guests sip tea and nibble on scones, hors d’oeuvres and sweets.
As part of the Corridor des Arts, Mr. & Mrs. Joubert have begun “Under the Oaks”, a series of art-based activities on the grounds of Nine Oaks. Events include: music, watercolor and acrylic painting, crafting with beads, oshibana, decoupage, gardening, and more.
The unique style in this home on the bayou give visitors a true Southern Louisiana experience with graceful elegance in the traditional Victorian fashion. Modern features make for a comfortable visit.
